Lindsay Barenz is President of Oakland Roots SC, the USL Championship men’s soccer club in Oakland, California. She was formerly the President of Business Operations at the Washington Spirit, the VP of Business Development at the National Women’s Soccer League, and the VP of Strategic Business Development and General Counsel at Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals FC where she served as RSL’s Alternate Governor on Major League Soccer’s Board of Governors. Lindsay was a White House Fellow, serving in the Director’s Office of the White House Office of Management and Budget in the Obama Administration. She founded a digital media company in New York City covering arts, culture, theater, and performance, and she was a mergers and acquisitions attorney with the law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.
Lindsay ran Jackie Biskupski’s campaign for Salt Lake City Mayor in 2015, electing the first openly gay mayor of the capital city of the State of Utah. After law school, Lindsay served as a law clerk to the Honorable Betty Binns Fletcher on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to law school, she was a union organizer with the Service Employees International Union. Lindsay is a graduate of Yale Law School and the University of Utah. She serves on the Planned Parenthood Association of Utah Board of Directors.
