
Tamika Christy Greenwood, Director of Government and Community Relations, BART
Tamika Christy Greenwood is a licensed attorney and leader with a track record of external affairs, campaign finance, strategic planning, and conflicts of interest. She thrives on tackling tough challenges and developing external relationships. She most recently served as Director of Government and Community relations for BART where she oversees the Government and Community Relations and public affairs activities to solicit support and promote District services.
Over the years, Tamika extended her expertise in relationship-building and strategic planning to the cities of Oakland and San Leandro. She also served as Government and Community Relations Manager for Sutter Health, where she co-chaired the organization’s Women’s Inclusion Resource Group.
Tamika is a community servant at heart and has served her community through serving on boards for the Peralta College Foundation and the East Bay Agency for Children. She is a long-time member of Black Women Organized for Political Action and served as an Alameda County Court Appointed Special Advocate, on the Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women, and the Alameda County Mental Health Board. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc.
Tamika is the author of two award-winning novels, Anytime Soon and Never Too Soon. She writes stories that tackle real-life issues of generational trauma, mental health, and complicated family dynamics. She has been featured in local and national publications and podcasts and enjoys coaching new writers. She is actively querying for agents for her third novel and busy working on her fourth.
Tamika is a proud wife, devoted mother, and dog-grandma. She is currently taking a break from the hustles of life for much-needed self-care.
